We are delighted to announce that we are now corporate partners with LINC Scotland, the national association for business angels in Scotland.  LINC’s membership includes many active individual investors and most of the main angel groups or syndicates.

Scotland is a great place for starting up and growing businesses.  There is a wide range of support available for new and growing companies, and an active network of angel investors providing finance and mentoring.

We have much experience in advising start-up and high growth companies and are familiar with the support ecosystem, so working with LINC is a natural partnership for us.  It will help us grow our own network for our clients’ benefit and means we can contribute our expertise and knowledge to the investor and young company community.

A well thought out intellectual property (IP) strategy is a vital aspect of a company’s growth plans. The correct strategy to adopt will vary widely from company to company, but it is important to gain an understanding of the various rights available at an early stage in order to lay the right foundations for securing and protecting competitive advantage.

Patents are certainly not the answer for everybody, but if the business case is right then they can be a powerful and effective tool for deterring competition and adding value to a company.

Our core expertise lies in high-tech fields including electronics, software, semiconductors and photonics but we can also deal with other engineering disciplines including renewable energy and mechanical engineering, and we advise companies on the full range of intellectual property rights that are available.  We also offer services including due diligence, searching and freedom to operate assessments.
