We are delighted that Iain McCrindle has passed his exams and is now qualified as a European Patent Attorney.  This follows hot on the heels of his earlier UK qualification, meaning that his patent attorney qualification is complete!

The European Qualifying Examination (EQE) is held once every year. In March 2020 Iain, like many others across Europe, was ready to sit the exams for the first time.  When COVID hit, the exams were cancelled with just a few days’ notice.  After an initial suggestion that they could be re-scheduled for the summer time, it was decided that the 2020 exams would be cancelled. The 2021 examinations then took place electronically, with a complex proctoring system and many substantive changes to examination technique.

It is a massive credit to Iain that he has passed his exams first time – a real achievement in normal times, but especially noteworthy considering the combination of these disruptions together with the need to juggle home and work life while working from home.

Congratulations Iain!
