It’s now six months since Scintilla opened its doors for business!
Taking the decision to set up my own new firm was of course a big step to make but it has absolutely been the right choice. From a personal perspective it has been very enjoyable, and from a professional perspective my initial instinct that there is a need for a firm like Scintilla has been confirmed again and again – being a small firm with a niche offering in the fields of software and electronics is something that people have really been responding to.
Big thanks are due to my early clients, those family and friends who have suppported me and people I’ve met along the way who have provided encouragement and some practical advice.
One of my biggest pleasures has been working with SMEs and in particular start-up companies. It is a real privilege to see exciting ideas right at the start of their development, and the crop of start-up companies and networks that exist give me real optimism for the Scottish economy.
It’s also been great to work with more established companies who already have intellectual property experience but where I can provide services and advice on the tactics and strategies involved in a range of issues.
So while it’s early days it has been a promising start and I look forward to the next six months, year, decade and more!
